Kiddie park http://www.kiddiepark.net/ has been around since 1925. When I turned 15 my first job was here. At the time it was run by the local police. I think it still is. Tickets for rides are just 25 cents. It is a wonderful park and cheap. Asia was having so much fun at Kiddie Park. This was her first time to go and I was afraid that she would be scared to ride anything but she sat back, felt the wind in her hair, and enjoyed the rides.
It has been a little over one week since Quentin left for Nigeria and it is lonely without him. When you spend so much time with someone it is so easy to take them for granted. Quentin is a wonderful husband, father, and friend. I worry about him over there and I worry about being on my own with the kids for weeks at a time; but I do believe where we are in our lives is where we are supposed to be. Thank goodness for phones and internet. He calls often and once he gets his webcam hooked up we will be able to talk online. He is doing well so far though the pace in Nigeria is a lot slower and he is adjusting to that. Quentin is also finding that the food is quiet different as well. He was at a work picnic the other day and they were serving bush meat along with other meats that were unrecognizable. When he comes back home he will have to stock up on instant noodles to take back with him or he may dwindle to the size of a twig. The kids are really getting spoiled here at Grandma and Grandpa’s. Already I am seeing improvement in Asia. We have been taking her to the park and are getting her around kids more. When she wakes up in the morning she is always wanting to put her shoes on and heads for the door. It makes me so happy to see her progress. I look forward to our time in Houston and to all it has to offer her. Our furniture made it from France and through customs so I will be ready to move into our new place at the beginning of September. I have enjoyed being back in my hometown spending time with my family. It is going to be nice having them close again.

It has been such a long time since I have written on here. We have been in the moving process. Finally we made it to Houston and have everything ready for me to go as far as an apartment, car, internet, etc. Our furniture from France is still on its way so until it arrives I will be with my folks in Oklahoma. I plan on moving completely to Houston in early September. Quentin will be on his way to work in Nigeria this Sunday. I am sad to see him go but I will have lots to do until he returns. I am excited about being back in Houston so that I can get Asia involved in the programs she needs, get myself back into church, and visit with friends. It will be a challenging time for Quentin and I so I ask you to keep us in your prayers. As soon as I figure out how to post pictures on my parents computer I will do so. The kids are doing great and have done very well with the move. Elijah is a determined boy and just a few days ago started constantly pulling himself up into a standing position while holding onto things. Asia is a great sister. She continues to advance as well.

Another Lau member goes bald. I love these pictures of Quentin’s grandpa after his trip to the hair salon and market. Quentin’s uncle wrote: Dad is so happy that this Saloon is only charging RM3 for a hair shave whereas his usual barber charges RM7. If only it cost that much for us to get a haircut.

We have been having a lot of problems with our internet recently so we asked that it go ahead and be cancelled since we are leaving soon anyway. I am not for sure when exactly it will be gone but when it is I will not be able to update my blog until I get to Houston.

Poor Asia is sick again. She must have caught something from a kid at the family day we went to on Sunday. We are not sure exactly what is wrong but think she has a sore throat because that is what another child that is sick has. She has tried to eat but will eat very little or spit it up. Asia has been sleeping a lot so maybe that will help. I hate to see my little girl sick, she seems so sad. I have been trying to keep her away from Elijah but it is hard because she loves to play with him.
Asia was playing peek-a-boo on our bed.
Asia picked up a habit from Elijah.
