Lord, I try so hard to focus on you.
I never thought it would be so hard to do.
So many distractions coming my way.
How do I keep it together so that I do not stray?
Everyday is a constant struggle.
Managing marriage, myself, and kids is a constant juggle.
Though I know in my heart I do not do [...]

Change
Posted in Poetry on March 2, 2008 | 1 Comment »
I started this poem when I was pregnant with Asia. I finished it when she was born. It was just published in the March issue of the Houston Down Syndrome newsletter, Prospectives.
Change is coming and it is coming fast.
Am I going to be able to make it through?
If not,
What am I going to do?
I feel so alone,

France Adventure : my first trip into town

I walked to the bus stop to be on my way,
I wanted to buy a cake for my husbands first birthday.
Much to my surprise a bus never came,
I was waiting on the wrong side of the road,
I was to blame.
I did not understand the bus schedule yet.
So back to my home I went.
An hour [...]
Travelin’ Rainbow

In the clouds today I flew,
travelin’ again, farther away from you.
I looked out of my window,
and much to my surprise,

and a smile spread across my face that did not cease.
I realized at that [...]
Wings to Fly

But the stars gave me comfort nonetheless
Because I new angels flew above in God’s holiness.
What I wouldn’t [...]
Love

How can I ever express to God my gratitude for my love? I am drawn to my love in a way that I will never be able to express and held to him with love that my body does not suffice to declare. He wanders so frequently in my thoughts by day and inhabits my dreams, [...]
Your Love

I love the way you hold me,
Always nice and snug.
I love the way you comfort me,
When I am “in the mud.”
I love the way you kiss me,
So tender and so sweet.
You choosing me to be with,
Is a very special treat.
But most of all I love you,
For the man you are.
You are honest, sincere, [...]
Dinner With Satan
Posted in Poetry on February 12, 2008 | 1 Comment »
I had dinner with Satan! You heard me right, Satan is what I said. It was a bad dream I had, months ago when going to bed, Oh, what a fright! I sat at a table with the Devil himself. A power and evil he exuded like nothing else. Scared out of my wits, but next to him [...]
